HE LIVES!!!!!

For whatever reason, I picture it being Christopher Moltisanti. Just like the way he treated his script writing buddy, he had Tim Donaghy doing his dirty work for the past two years. But the sad reality is that the Sopranos ended a month or so ago, and this little tale is just beginning. It is a black eye, although not something that will alter the landscape of the NBA. I remember the "black eye" the brawl for all in Palace Hills was suppose to bring to the league. The only thing remaining from that incident is a few more blue coloured shirts in an arena during the game and Ron Artest. It didn't affect attendence though like some predicted. The NBA just broke records this previous year. So will this ref scandal affect the NBA long term? How they deal with the refs internally will change, but from a public perception I don't believe so. For the next month, we will get a lot of talk about this guy and about the games he had worked (lots of mention already about the Knicks vs. Heat game in March where the knicks shot 39 free throws to the Heats 8. The Knicks were favored by 4.5) and the NBA will have to do some major P.R. work. But I can at least see it for what it is, one bad apple. And it's unfortunate that this happened, and it does make you wonder how much he could have affected overall, but it's not going to ruin it for me long term. The bad apple was caught and is gone.

Although the more interesting little fact for some of us Raptor fans is this...the second last game Tim Donaghy ever worked was Raptors/Nets game 6.

Some people are wondering about the last game he did, the Suns-Spurs Game 3 where Amare Stoudemire played only about 20 minutes due to foul trouble.
