Canada vs. Brazil

Toronto Raptors.com has a short but sweet preview of the Canadian National team's chances in these FIBA championships. Tomorrow night is Canada vs. Brazil and I do agree with the article that beating Brazil would help Canada's chances of doing some serious damage this year. Of course Brazil is considered the number two team behind the States so it won't be easy. My thinking though is that getting Brazil in the first game really works in Canada's favour. Not much is expected from this Canadian team so will Brazil be a touch relaxed? Can Canada take advantage of that if it's the case? Leo Rautins knows his basketball so it will be interesting to see if they can pull off the major upset tomorrow night. This is one tournament that is not about winning it all for glory. It's about winning to get into the olympics next year and hopefully getting Nash and Maglore to join at that point. A strong performance at the olympics will do wonders for Canada's basketball programs.
