Greatest team of all time
10 days remaining in the current 1st pick poll, which by the way, keep them coming if you have yet to vote. Once they are done, I am going to do a rant on the results, so vote for who you believe is the man and I will look at the numbers when its all said and done.
But on October 1st I plan on putting up a new big month long poll for the build up to the new NBA season, to go hand in hand with the 30 team preview I will be doing starting October 1st. I know that this is a Raptors blog, but for any fans of the other 29 teams, be sure to bookmark this page to check back when it starts to see if you agree with my thoughts on your favorite team.
Until the 1st though, and with the 1st pick poll almost done, I am going to put up something to get us threw this last stretch.
Which team is the greatest of the last 27 years?
Lets look at the candidates....
The Los Angeles Lakers 1987/1988 - Magic Johnson, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, James Worthy (Repeat champs beating the Celtics and the Pistons)
The Boston Celtics 1984-1987 - Larry Bird, Robert Parish, Kevin McHale (4 finals appearances with 2 championships)
The Detroit Pistons 1989-1990 - Isiah Thomas, Bill Lambeer, Joe Dumars (Repeat champs including sweeping the Lakers)
The Chicago Bulls 1991-1993 - Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Horace Grant (Three championships in a row)
The Houston Rockets 1994-1995 - Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, Sam Cassell, Robert Horry (they get 4 players cause Clyde was only on the team for the second year) (Repeat champions)
The Chicago Bulls 1996-1998 - Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, Dennis Rodman (Three championships in a row)
The Los Angeles Lakers 2000-2002 - Shaquille O'Neal, Kobe Bryant, Rick Fox (Three championships in a row)
The San Antonio Spurs 2003-2007 - Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili (3 championships in 5 years)
Of course it's nice to take into consideration the remaining roster and how easy of a time these teams might have had in winning, but do your best in picking which team you would take if these 8 teams playing against each other in the playoffs.
