Opening Week

Right off the top, let me just say that I really hope that the Bulls don't trade for Kobe. They have such a good thing building for the next 7-10 years and they will ruin that if they trade both Gordon and Deng. I really feel they won't do it, but the Bulls really are the only team capable of doing this deal. And with the Kobe loving media all over this story, the more you hear about it, the more you get tricked into believing something might actually happen.

Let's just hope it does not.

But to more important matters. The week ahead....

Wed at the ACC vs the 76ers
Friday in Jersey vs the Nets
Sunday at the ACC vs the Celtics

My season tickets are all lined up and ready to rock and roll, and I am more then excited about getting back into the ACC. Sounds like even Leaf fans feel the excitment, as the Leafs got rocked 7-1 as the fans in the crowd actually chanted "Let's go Raptors". Thats great, I LOVE IT. Hahah. Two things I hate in sports. Kobe Bryant and living in a city that is so blindly pro Leafs. I actually cheer against the Leafs every game. Seeing them lose is great to me, just to stick it to these poor suckers in this city.

The ACC is home of the RAPTORS, the Leafs are just guests.

Anyhow, lets break down the 3 games...

Against Philly on Wednesday it is pretty much a must win. And it is pretty much guarenteed. With the way the Raps ended preseason, they are on a roll and the 76ers will have zero chance in matching up. Throw in the fact that Dalembert MIGHT be back for game one, but will for sure be rusty, the 76ers won't be able to handle both Bosh and Bargnani. NOW let me just add, that last season the 76ers showed alot of heart. If the Raps let the 76ers stay in the game, then Andre Miller could keep these guys going, I feel he is an underrated point guard. But it really won't happen. The 3's will be raining, and I got a feeling that Wednesday's game could be confused with one of the preseason games.

Friday in Jersey is a very nice test. These sweet looking Raps in the preseason has not played on the road in awhile, expecially on the road against an NBA team on North American soil. Plus these are the Nets that beat the Raps out of the playoffs last year as well as a (currently) healthy Nets team. Really tough to call this game, as I can see it going ether way. My question is that with a hurt Kidd and 38 year old Darrell Armstrong backing him up currently, does this Nets team have the ability to push the ball? I think the Raps should be able to outrun them.

Sunday at the ACC it is Boston. I fully expect the Raps to win. I will be honest, I am getting less and less impressed by this Celtics team. In the playoffs, they will be a tough out, but in Toronto, the Raps will dominate. And it's not just about the depth. Garnett is a strong inside defender, but who is he going to cover? Cause Bosh and Bargnani can both take him outside of the key and keep him there. Away from the net, he is much less effective on the boards as well as help D. And Kendrick Perkins has no chance against Bosh or Bargnani and will get into foul trouble early. Rondo might be able to keep up with Ford for awhile, but then Rondo will get a rested Jose THEN get a rested Ford. Turnovers and poor FG% in the second half for Rajon. Pierce is going to be tied to Kapono on the outside of the 3 point line while Ray Allen will be tired out chasing Parker off screens. Again guys and girls, Boston is going to get tired. Simple as that. And the game being at the ACC just puts it that much more in Toronto's favour.

The overall goal for the week is 2/3, and since Philly BETTER be #1, they just need to split the Nets/Cetlics game. IF they get both though and go 3-0, that would be a solid message to the league.

Tomorrow I got my own basketball league and of course the game on Wedesday, so I won't be able to post anything for a few days. Keep checking back though.

Thanks for your biased view of the Celtics. I think the Celtics are going to do exactly what they did in preseason. Beat the Raptors. Guess I am biased fan too. LOL

Ha ha

The Raptors beating the Celtics?

I am sure the only thing missing will be Gerald Green, dunking in your faces.....when the game is over...

pure illusion.

It's true! Tony Allen and James Posey do not exist and are definitely not top flight perimeter defenders.

So who is going to stop KG from from getting his 20/10 (assists) and/or Pierce and Ray from getting their efficient 20?

Hahahaha! I hope that the Celtics humiliate your Raptors--what a bizarre bias you show... Esp. after the Cs beat the Raptors in their first game two weeks ago.
